Visa Fellowship Application
The Visa Research Fellows Program offers advanced-level doctoral students and recent PhDs the opportunity to receive additional training and support for one academic year. During their time as Fellows, scholars will participate in a bi-weekly colloquia series, present and receive feedback on their work, and contribute to the initiative’s other intellectual activities.
Each year we will select up to eight Fellows across various disciplines who are working on dissertations related to issues of immigrant incorporation or immigration policy. Fellows will receive $5,000 in financial support and form a cohort that meets regularly throughout the academic year. The Fellows Program also provides professional development opportunities, job market support, and ongoing mentoring.
Interested candidates must apply online and attach a curriculum vitae. In addition, applicants should submit a cover letter, sample of written work, graduate transcripts, teaching evaluations (if available), and three letters of reference (to be submitted by letter writers to visapolitics@gmail.com) by June 30, 2026. We ask that in the cover letter, the candidate describe how their research, teaching, or service experiences support inclusive learning and diversity.
